Dermaplane
Instantly smooth, bright, and makeup-ready skin

Treatment overview
Dermaplaning is a precise manual exfoliation treatment that uses a sterile surgical-grade blade to gently remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells and vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the face. At Nuerra, dermaplaning is performed exclusively by Tilly Rose using professional technique — not the at-home tool versions you may have seen on social media. The immediate result is skin that is smoother, brighter, and more refined in texture than almost any other single treatment. Makeup sits flawlessly on the skin, skincare products absorb up to 70% more effectively, and the face has a natural luminosity that clients consistently describe as their favourite result on the menu.
The experience, step by step
- 01
Skin Preparation
The skin is thoroughly cleansed and dried completely — dermaplaning is performed on dry skin for precision and safety.
- 02
Blade Technique
Using a sterile 10R surgical blade held at a precise 45-degree angle, Tilly uses short, feathering strokes across the face to remove dead skin cells and vellus hair simultaneously.
- 03
Full Face Coverage
The treatment covers the full face including forehead, cheeks, chin, upper lip, and jaw — systematically working across each section with clinical precision.
- 04
Active Serum Application
Immediately after dermaplaning, your freshly exfoliated skin is primed for absorption. High-potency serums are applied and penetrate significantly deeper than on unexfoliated skin.
- 05
Mask, Moisturise & Protect
A calming mask is applied to soothe the skin, followed by moisturiser and SPF to protect the newly revealed skin layer.
Is this treatment right for you?
Dermaplaning is suitable for most skin types and delivers particularly transformative results for clients with dull or dry skin, uneven texture, fine vellus hair, skin that appears lacklustre despite a good routine, or anyone wanting a flawless base for a special occasion. It is not recommended for active acne breakouts, highly sensitive rosacea-prone skin, or clients currently using Roaccutane.

Questions, answered.
No! This is one of the most persistent myths in aesthetics. Vellus hair (peach fuzz) is fine and unpigmented, and dermaplaning does not change the follicle structure. Hair grows back exactly as it was before fine and soft. If any hair show a change this is more than likely to do with a hormone inbalance.
Not at all. Most clients describe it as a slightly unusual sensation like a credit card being gently dragged across the skin. There is no discomfort, no heat, and no downtime.
Professional dermaplaning uses a sterile surgical 10R blade applied with clinical technique by a trained specialist. At-home dermaplaning tools use a much smaller, less sharp edge and cannot replicate the depth of exfoliation or precision. The results are not comparable.
We recommend leaving the skin free of makeup for the rest of the treatment day. After that, your makeup application will be noticeably smoother and longer-lasting than usual.
Every 4 weeks, aligned with your natural skin cell turnover cycle. Over-exfoliating more frequently than this can compromise the skin barrier.
Yes dermaplaning is an excellent preparatory treatment before a chemical peel or LED therapy, as the removal of the dead skin layer allows active ingredients to penetrate significantly more deeply.
