Chemical Peel
What Is It

Treatment overview

A chemical peel is one of the most clinically proven and results-driven skin treatments available — and at Nuerra, it is also one of the most personalised. Tilly uses professional-grade acid formulations to precisely resurface the skin, accelerating cell turnover, clearing congestion, fading pigmentation, and stimulating collagen production. Unlike high-street peels, the formulations used at Nuerra are not available for retail purchase. They work at a depth and concentration that delivers genuine clinical results — while Tilly's expert application ensures the treatment is safe, controlled, and tailored to your skin type and tolerance.

How It Works

The experience, step by step

  1. 01

    Skin Assessment & Peel Selection

Tilly assesses your skin and selects the most appropriate peel formulation and strength — from gentle brightening peels for first-timers to deeper resurfacing peels for established clients.

  2. 02

    Pre-Peel Cleanse

The skin is thoroughly degreased and cleansed to ensure even penetration of the acid solution across the entire treatment area.

  3. 03

    Peel Application

The chemical solution is carefully applied in precise layers. You will feel a tingling or warming sensation as the acid begins to work — Tilly monitors your skin's response throughout.

  4. 04

    Timed Processing

The peel is left on the skin for a precisely timed duration based on the formulation strength and your skin's response. This is where clinical expertise matters most.

  5. 05

    Neutralisation & Soothing

The peel is neutralised and removed, followed by calming, hydrating post-peel products to restore the skin barrier and reduce any redness.

Who It's For

Is this treatment right for you?

Chemical peels are highly effective for clients dealing with acne and breakouts, post-acne marks and pigmentation, uneven skin tone, dull or congested skin, fine lines and early signs of ageing, and sun damage. A course of peels (typically 4–6) is recommended for conditions like acne scarring or deeper pigmentation.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

This depends on the peel depth. Superficial peels produce light flaking that most clients barely notice. Medium-depth peels produce more obvious peeling over 5–7 days. Tilly will always advise you exactly what to expect based on the peel selected for your skin.

Yes, when performed correctly. Tilly selects formulations appropriate for your Fitzpatrick skin type. Certain acids (such as mandelic and lactic) are particularly well-suited to darker tones with a lower risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

A single peel delivers noticeable results. For deeper concerns — acne scarring, pigmentation, or skin ageing — a course of 4–6 peels at 3–4 week intervals is recommended. Maintenance peels every 6–8 weeks help sustain results.

We recommend avoiding makeup for the first 24 hours. After that, mineral makeup is preferable during the peeling phase. SPF is non-negotiable — freshly peeled skin is significantly more vulnerable to UV damage.

Avoid retinoids for 5–7 days before treatment, any other active exfoliation (AHAs, BHAs, scrubs) for at least a week, and sun exposure. Inform Tilly if you are using any prescription skincare or have recently had other treatments.

No — they work very differently. A chemical peel resurfaces the skin using acids that dissolve dead skin cells and accelerate cell turnover. Microneedling creates micro-injuries that trigger collagen production deep within the dermis. They target overlapping but distinct concerns and are often used as part of a combined treatment plan.
