Immediately after treatment and up to 24–48 hours there will be redness across treated areas. Slight skin peeling then may occur from day 2-5 to reveal a lovely post treatment glow a week after treatment.
No, at Nuerra we fully numb all treatment areas to make the experience as comfortable as possible even though the treatment can be done without numbing. Most clients describe it as a scratchy sensation, as numbing wears off the skin can begin to feel warm and tight which is completely normal and will subside.
The SkinPen device is made up of 14 sterile Japanese steel needles which when glided over your skin are being inserted the retracted to create controlled micro-channels. These micro-channels, also known as micro-injuries, in the skin kickstart your bodies natural healing process where fibroblasts are rushed to the skin's surface and produce elastin and collagen fibres to heal and improve the skin over time.
Treating the face in isolation while the neck shows signs of ageing creates a visual mismatch. The face and neck age together and respond best when treated as one continuous area. Combined treatment also offers better value and more cohesive, natural-looking results.
The neck skin is thinner than facial skin, so the sensation can feel slightly more intense in some areas. Numbing cream is applied to the full treatment area beforehand, and the needle depth will be adjusted for the neck to ensure comfort and safety.
We typically recommend a course of 3–4 sessions for meaningful improvement in skin texture and fine lines. Then after your initial course of treatment you can maintain results with a treatment every 3-6 months depending on preference or you can keep building your collagen every 6 weeks!
